Parmesan and Herb Crackers

Parmesan and Herb Crackers

These lovely treats are like a savory shortbread cookie that work perfect for a great 'before dinner treat'.  I made these for me and my mom before dinner the other night and we enjoyed them with a nice glass of wine and I'm pretty sure I ate about 6 crackers before dinner.  These rich crackers are so good, they have a great combination of butter, cheese, and herb flavors.  My mom bought me the Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics by Ina Garten cookbook for Christmas and this was the first recipe I made from it and I was not disappointed.

Cake Crumb Oatmeal Cookies

Cake Crumb Oatmeal Cookies

I decided to try out a new recipe the other day from a cookbook that my mom gave me a long time ago.  The recipe didn't exactly turn out as planned (I've decided to blame the recipe in the cookbook rather than blame myself on the mistake) and I ended up with a plate full of cake crumbs.  I hate wasting food and I don't have that much money right now to spend on ingredients, so I could either A) eat all the crumbs to myself or B) find some other recipe to use them in.  Thanks to my wonderful friend Google, I was able to discover this website and used the recipe called 'Cake Crumb Cookies' from ICES article 1-94 by Carl Nixon-TX.

Chive and Cheddar Biscuits

Chive and Cheddar Biscuits

I have been a huge fan of The Pioneer Woman for a long time now but I spend more time drooling over her site rather than baking from her site.  But, I decided to stop pinning over her recipes and finally make one of them for myself to enjoy!  I was working the morning shift at work this week so I decided I would make something savory rather than sweet.  I decided on making the Pioneer Woman's Bacon Onion Cheddar Biscuits because I thought they would go perfect with everyone's morning coffee's.

New Years Eve Lemon Cake Balls

New Years Eve Lemon Cake Balls

This is a great recipe for a New Years Eve party.  I love making Bakerella's cake balls, they are so easy and fun.  I decided to make them this time using lemon cake mix because I wanted a fun color to be on the inside of the balls when you bite into them.  At first I was going to cover them with white candy coating and decorate them with sprinkles.  But when I went to the craft store, I found colorburst bright candy coating and I had to try it out.  The balls look fun and taste so good as always.  Follow the link above to make your own New Year's cake balls!
