Apple, Pear, and Cranberry Crisp
Me and my boyfriend went to my mom's house for Thanksgiving dinner on Monday night. We decided that we were turkied-out and wanted steak and scallopped potatoes for dinner instead. Since we were having such a heavy dinner I decided that I should make something light for dessert. My mom is a huge fan of crisps and crumbles but I've only made her Chuck's berry crumble, so I thought this time I would make her something more festive. I decided to try Ina Garten's apple and pear crisp but I also threw in a few frozen cranberries to make it a more festive dessert.

The crisp turned out really well, I loved the subtle hint of citrus flavor and it also had a good consistancy of sweet fruit flavor and hearty oat taste. We served it hot right out of the oven with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was just perfect. I've posted the recipe above, the only change I made to the recipe was that I reduced the zest amounts by half just so the citrus wouldn't be too overpowering over the delicious fruit! Enjoy!

I love your blog. The crisp looks delicious. What a great idea too for a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
